Scan Suspicious Files with Different Antivirus Engines Online

Scan Suspicious Files with Different Antivirus Engines Online

Suspicious files are all over the internet, you download something and you come across another virus or malware which is totally unknown to your Antivirus Engine, so that does not make any sense that you are having the best Antivirus Engine in the world but sometimes that too fails to detect that kind of virus. So what we can do in that case well we go for something which can search your file using all Antivirus Engine available.
That’s right searching and scanning for malware and viruses through all Antivirus Engines together can be done really easily with VirusTotal. So what VirusTotal says on about them.

VirusTotal is a service that analyzes suspicious files and URLs and facilitates the quick detection of viruses, worms, Trojans, and all kinds of malware detected by antivirus engines.

So now this is what you will see when you will visit their website a simple online file Uploader where you can submit a file or scan a website or File through URL. You can also see a Service Load text written above in the image that simply scans the whole traffic on their website and tell you that how much load they have on their server.

Now theirs a small problem with this service that they have a file size limited to 20MB per file, so from my point of view that’s good because it makes their website free for everyone as they do not have much load on their server.

So now click on Choose File and than click on Send File and you will see another window light boxed in front of you saying something like below .:

So now your file is being upload and they will scan your file with their all Antivirus Engines and brief your results in few seconds like below .:

So now you can see that how many Antivirus Engines have detected this file as an virus and of which category. So from the above image you can see that 5 Antivirus out of 43 detects it as a Virus so now if you want to see which Antivirus is detecting it and in which category than click on View Last Report.

Google Nexus 4 Unboxing

Google Nexus 4 Unboxing

Huge Selection and Amazing Prices. Free Home Delivery - Above Rs.300

The Nexus 4 is a mobile phone collaboration between Google and LG and was launched worldwide last week. Thanks to its incredible specifications and low price point, the handset sold out within minutes, and is now one of the most sought-after pieces of mobile tech, with phones currently changing hands for twice their original purchase price on auction sites. We managed to get our hands on one, and we’re going to inflict the usual unboxing treatment on it for your viewing pleasure.

The Nexus 4 has a quad-core 1.5GHz Snapdragon S4 processor and is backed up with 2GB of RAM. The phone is available with 8GB and 16GB internal storage, but no MicroSD card – so the 8GB model may be a little too restrictive for some download-loving users.

The Nexus 4 comes in quite a compact box, and inside there’s very little to report on. You get the user manual, data cable and charger (the cable links to the charger), as well as the little piece of metal which pops open the phone’s Micro SIM compartment. Surprisingly, there are no headphones in the box – presumably this is one area where Google and LG have cut costs in order to achieve that super-low retail price. It’s not a massive loss as most people will replace the bundled headphones with their own preferred pair anyway.

Box Contents
Nexus 4 phone
USB sync/charge cable
AC Adapter and cable
SIM ejection tool
Safety and Warranty information
Quick start guide

Considering the status of the phone, the packaging is a little underwhelming. Google has used the same kind of box design as it did for the Asus Nexus 7 tablet (although thankfully, it’s not quite as hard to open this time around), which is appealing but not quite as sexy as the packaging for Apple’s products.

Finally, Apple iTunes store is in India, buy a song for Rs 7

Finally, Apple iTunes store is in India, buy a song for Rs 7

After a long long wait, Apple on Tuesday finally extended the iTunes Store to India offering consumers the ability to purchase music, buy or rent movies.

The all-new website for iTunes store greets you with the message, “Now you can shop at the world’s No.1 music store. Which means you can browse and buy songs, albums and films anytime you want.”

Services:

Until now, the Indian iTunes Store only featured some free books and podcasts. But now, you can buy everything–from Bollywood songs, Tamil film songs to even international music from all major labels.

Apple also launched its iTunes Match service in India, which allows users to store music, bought from sources other than iTunes, in iCloud. This service is priced at Rs 1,200 per year.

But, there are no TV shows listed, unlike various other international markets. And that’s the only disappointment so far.

Price:

Compared to other countries, pricing in India seems pretty reasonable. Single songs are priced between Rs 7 and Rs 15 and albums start from Rs 70. [On Flipkart, a single song costs you Rs 15]

Similarly, most movies are available for rent at Rs 80 in SD (Rs 120 in HD) and buy for Rs 290 in SD (Rs 490 in HD).

The iTunes Store debuted as the US-only iTunes Music Store in April 2003. It has since expanded to include movies and TV shows and until today was available in approximately 97 countries. In June, it added 12 Asian countries including Hong Kong, Singapore, Taiwan. But India did not feature in that list.

Check out the new Apple India iTunes store here.

For Android users: Log into FB Messenger with only name, mobile no

For Android users: Log into FB Messenger with only name, mobile no!

Facebook’s Messenger app for Android just got a a serious new upgrade. Users in India, Indonesia, Venezuela, Australia and South Africa can now sign up for the Messenger service with just their name and mobile number. Previously, to log into Facebook Messenger, you had to use your Facebook account.

Facebook made the announcement on their Newsroom.  Read It:

Starting today, you can create a Messenger account with just your name and phone number, and start messaging your mobile contacts.

Just install the app and tap Get Started to reach your contacts faster, start group conversations, share photos and more.

The app will then find your contacts who are using Messenger.

This change should put to rest all rumours of Facebook buying out WhatsApp. But what is evident is that Facebook is hoping to put up Messenger as a serious rival to WhatsApp.

The new Messenger allows users who don’t have a Facebook account to use the Messaging service and this is clearly part of Facebook’s strategy to expand into mobile.

As Facebook’s Q3 results for 2012 showed that mobile ads had finally worked for the site and helped bring in nearly 14 percent of the revenue for the site came from mobile ads. “I want to dispel this myth that Facebook can’t make money on mobile,” said CEO Mark Zuckerberg in a conference call with analysts. “This may (have seemed) true earlier this year because we hadn’t started trying yet.”

Clearly by making Messenger accessible to non-Facebook users on Android, Zuckerberg is sending out a strong message that the mobile arm of the social networking giant is only going to get bigger.

Manmohan unlikely to visit Pakistan in near future

Manmohan unlikely to visit Pakistan in near future

New Delhi: Prime Minister Manmohan Singh has made it clear that he has no intention of travelling to Pakistan in the near future, saying there should be conducive situation for it.

He conveyed this directly to Pakistan President Asif Ali Zardari in response to his invitation in July, sources said.

In a letter to Singh, Zardari had invited him to undertake the visit to his ancestral place Gah in Punjab on the occasion of Guru Nanak Jayanti on 28 November. Zardari had suggested that if Singh’s visit coincided with celebrations to mark the birth anniversary of Guru Nanak, it would be well received by the Pakistani people and reinforce the desire of both countries to promote inter-religious harmony.

“Our invitation for you to visit Pakistan is outstanding. Your visit will provide us an opportunity to take stock of our bilateral relations,” the Pakistan President had written.

Sources said that while India was willing to do business with Pakistan in aspects like economy and commerce, it would like to hold it responsible for not much progress on the issue of punishing those behind Mumbai attacks of 2008. India does not feel that the relationship would see any major transformation.

“What we are looking for is just normal relationship. It will have its costs and benefits,” a source said.

The comments assume significance as these come ahead of the planned visit of Pakistan’s Interior Minister Rehman Malik here next week. India is also working on plans to allow Pakistani judicial commission to visit here in connection with the Mumbai attack. India has conveyed to Pakistan that the issue would be considered positively and it is working out aspects like timing and terms under which the commission would take place.

Talaash review By: Rajeev Masand Site:CNN IBN
Kagti (with her co-writer Zoya Akhtar) tells a gripping tale that operates on more levels than one. Not everything works, though. The twist in the end is cheesy, and isn’t too hard to see coming. What’s more disappointing than the twist itself is the manner in which the writers recap scenes to explain it, as if spoon-feeding those who didn’t get it right away.I’m going with three-and-a-half out of five for director Reema Kagti’s Talaash. Its shortcomings notwithstanding, it’s a good example of an entertaining commercial film that didn’t need to be lazy or senseless. Don’t miss it; easily one of the better films this year.

TALAASH is dramatic and absorbing, both. Director Reema Kagti takes up an attention-grabbing premise and along with co-writer Zoya Akhtar spins a tale that makes the viewer a participant of sorts. While the cop tries hard to solve the jigsaw puzzle, the spectator, with his mind wide alert by now, gets intrigued by what he observes and perceives and is keen to get to the bottom of the mystery himself/herself. That, in my opinion, is why this suspense drama works. On the whole, TALAASH is an outstanding film. A taut psychological thriller that keeps you guessing till the end, it leaves you spellbound, leaves you mesmerized, leaves you with an exclamation, 'Wow!'. An absolute must watch for all movie buffs. You just can't afford to miss this one!

To watch Talaash is to embark on a passionate love affair that ends in frustration because the object of your desire reveals itself to be shallow and depressingly ordinary. In short, a profound anti-climax. For once, I also feel the need to explain my rating: I wanted to give four stars to the first half and two stars to the second half, so it averages out to three. See Talaash and do post comments. I'm curious to see how many were as furious as me.

Farhan Akhtar's dialogue has fire. But the story written by Zoya Akhtar and Reema Kagti oscillates between real and implausible; making it hard for the screenplay to bridge the gap, especially in some key portions in the second half. At time the pace also numbs you making you shift in your seat. But if you average it out, Talaash is well-worth the price of a ticket.Tip-off: You may not like Talaash, if mystery and intrigue set at a languid pace is not what you look out for in your matinee outing.

On the whole, Talaash has a novel suspense angle and is an engaging and entertaining drama with a good emotional undercurrent. It will, therefore, be liked by the public and emerge a paying proposal at the box-office. Business in the big cities and good multiplexes and single-screen cinemas will be good but the film won’t find many takers in small centres, ordinary multiplexes and ordinary single-screen cinemas.

By no means is Talaash the end of your search for the perfect whodunit. But there is so much going for this compelling, slow-burning, well-acted tale set in the dark, grimy underbelly of Mumbai that you can barely take your eye off the screen. This isn’t your average heap of cheap thrills designed to project a superstar’s crowd-pulling clout, logic and sense be damned. Talaash is a restrained, offbeat and occasionally beguiling shot at a genre that popular Hindi cinema seems to have abandoned to its own detriment.

Make no mistake, Talaash is a Vikram Bhatt film. It starts off well, but simmers far too long before it gets to the boil. as said, the film gets more than a bit long in the tooth, hinging on a final twist that isn't too hard to see coming. Which is all dashed exasperating, considering just how good this film could have been. Am I being too cruel? Perhaps, but because of the wasted opportunity. Someone asked me if Talaash was a watchable film, and indeed it is. It's better put together than a lot of the films we see here, and definitely strongly acted, but ends up so, so much less enjoyable than it deserved to be.

The first half of ‘Talaash’ is good enough for you not to want to blink. The atmospheric thriller, top lining an angst-ridden cop, his hollow-eyed sad sack of a wife and a stunning street-walker, has you hooked right from its lovely opening credits. Post-interval, though, the tale-telling starts to stutter, the pace slackens, and the film becomes less than the zinger it set out to be.

The plot of the film is what proves to be a real winner as it leads to a logical, yet questionable end. While the movie is slow before the interval as it tries to establish the plot moving back and forth in time, the second half will leave you scratching your head as you try to piece everything together along with the lead actor. In all, Talaash successfully whets the appetite of all the Aamir Khan fans. As for the story, you can always trust Zoya Akhtar to give her best. Talaash is not a flawless film, but it is a fascinating tale that compels one to look beyond that which is evident. You can’t miss this one.

Writing and making thrillers is never easy. It has to be gripping, should engage the viewers and has to steer away from predictability. And Reema Kagti’s ‘Talaash’ scores in all these aspects. The film demands your patience as it establishes several characters in a leisurely pace and intertwines them beautifully into a story which makes an conscious effort to steer away from the clichés. Yes, there are few moments when the film tends to slack but soon enough a new twist demands you to sit up and concentrate properly on the film.Watch it for the story. That is the actual hero of the film. The brilliant actors are just an icing on the cake.

There is one way to find out, and it would matter only if you’re interested at all to sit around until the end. The film is intensely gripping, good enough for you to wait it out. At this point, that is all that we need to know; and head to the theatre, of course.

Talaash’s story and plot is such that to describe any scene would be to give away the suspense. The story is real, enacted by extremely able actors, who make the movie thrilling, in just the right measure. Every turn surprises you, shocks you even, and has you completely involved in the story playing out on screen. It’s not predictable in the least, and that’s where Talaash scores high! In Bollywood, to make a film that has the audience on the edge of their seats is a huge achievement. And that’s what Talaash does. It gets you in, as soon as the first reel rolls, and holds you right till the very end

How ironic that a film whose characters can zip across forests faster than deer should be so slow and laborious itself! Breaking Dawn - Part 2, fifth and final installment in the cheesy but immensely popular Twilight movie franchise, is a film unlikely to appeal to anyone but hardcore fans who’ve been consistently forgiving of its many shortcomings. I’m going with a generous two out of five for The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 2. For anyone who doesn’t worship the franchise, this is drivel. Just be glad this is the last film!

There's potential for exciting drama here but Breaking Dawn: Part 2 fades before it even begins, struggling somewhere between the now-fatigued Ed-Bella romance, stagey acting, hilariously hackneyed lines ("You guys look so good together,") and that Stewart clenched-lip grimace.Twilight fans will undoubtedly troop the theatres for the finale but it's not a fitting end to such quintessentially American drama, all folklore and fantasy, sexiness and suburbia. As Breaking Dawn-Part 2 finally closes, you're left wishing you'd been bitten so much harder. Ouch.

Still, it's not the worst Twilight movie in the series. That distinction is still safe with the awfully mawkish and excruciatingly long, New Moon. After a photogenic beginning and lackluster middle, Breaking Dawn redeems itself at the fag end with a gruesome but emphatic imagery of Bella in labour, setting a precarious tone for the concluding chapter of the franchise. Except that nearly two hours are wasted in establishing very little, underscoring the needless yet exploitative exercise of splitting a volume into two.

For a series that started with a bang, Breaking Dawn — Part 2 ends the Twilight saga on the same note. This film has to be the second best in the series after the first film, Twilight, and brings it to a fitting end.Twilight fans who liked the not-so-well made films like New Moon, Eclipse and Breaking Dawn — Part 1 will love this film. But for the rest who are looking to catch a movie this weekend, Breaking Dawn — Part 2 is worth a watch. It may not be the best film ever, but is well-made with all the elements of a good film.

Despite the slow start Mr. Condon closes the series in fine, smooth style. He gives fans all the lovely flowers, conditioned hair and lightly erotic, dreamy kisses they deserve. Just as smartly he also shakes the series up with an unexpectedly fierce, entertaining battle that finds the Cullens, flanked by their wolf friends and various vampire allies, facing down the Volturi. Set on a snowy field, this whirlwind of clashing fangs and flying fur rouses Bella to action. It also injects the movie with an invigorating energy that the movies have rarely sustained since the first “Twilight,” when Catherine Hardwicke, a messy but spirited director, introduced Bella and Edward. It turns out that there’s something to be said about watching these two lovebirds tap into their inner monsters. It’s bloody good fun while it lasts.

The truth is that whether you agree with, or aren't a fan of Chopra's brand of love stories, he conveys them with complete conviction. Chopra and his leading man lend Jab Tak Hai Jaan an indelible charm. It's that charm, coupled with the filmmaker's trademark freshness, passion, and tenderness, that still keeps you invested in these characters and their star-crossed romance.I'm going with three out of five for the late Yash Chopra's Jab Tak Hai Jaan. Despite its many script problems, it's a consistently watchable film that oozes with feeling and real emotion. A fitting swan song.

JAB TAK HAI JAAN is not your typical love story. It has the old-world charm written all over it, with twists and turns plenty. It would be a disservice if one were to reveal the journey of the three principal characters -- Samar, Meera and Akira -- since the plot changes from conventional to unconventional in its second hour. JAB TAK HAI JAAN is attention-grabbing from inception till conclusion. The drama only soars higher and the complex love story gets more and more gripping as the conflict between the characters come to the fore. Mind you, JAB TAK HAI JAAN is not the usual 'love triangle', with two women fighting for the same guy. Nor can you compare it with any Yash Chopra film of yore either. On the whole, JAB TAK HAI JAAN resonates an oft-repeated fact: Love stories will come and go. But no one will make them like Yash Chopra. Just don't miss this heartwarming love story!

Jab Tak Hai Jaan is the swan song of Yash Chopra, the big daddy of romance. Every frame is picture perfect, the emotions are well nuanced. But there is one inherent flaw--the story by Aditya Chopra is hackneyed. You will not like Jab Tak Hai Jaan if mushy romances are not your staple. The movie doesn't have the intensity of some of Yash Chopra's earlier romances like Daag, Kabhie-Kabhie, Silsila and Chandni. But it still has the stamp of the man who made some of the best romantic fare in Bollywood.

You go to partake in a fantasy of swooning, idealised love - and Jab Tak Hai Jaan delivers plenty of that. This film has all the elements you would want in a Yash Chopra film - gorgeously shot locations in the UK and Kashmir, lavish songs and three inherently noble lead characters who struggle gallantly against their individual obligations. But what Jab Tak Hai Jaan does not have is a coherent plot.Jab Tak Hai Jaan is too tangled to transport you. At almost 180 minutes, it also requires enormous patience. But I recommend that you see it. Because only Yash Chopra could make heartache so attractive and ennobling that his characters wear it like a badge of honor.

A Yash Chopra drama that treads very familiar territory slickly - and a fair bit too slowly - but does so with an old-world sincerity that somehow makes most of it bearable. Rather like its leading man, who is often made to balance entire scenes on his dimples, grinning so wide his eyes appear closed. There are times in Jab Tak Hai Jaan when it's hard not to feel embarrassed for Shah Rukh Khan having to work with material this tedious - and yet he, despite the exaggerated show of youngness, manages inexplicably to charm. This is his film, and, against all odds, he works it well.

The mushy moments at the heart of the love story might feel a tad pulpy at times. ButJab Tak Hai Jaan leaves a soothing afterglow. You have seen it all before, notably in Dil To Pagal Hai and Veer-Zaara. Yet, Jab Tak Hai Jaan exudes a surprising degree of freshness. It stems from the quirky new-age twists that the screenplay throws into the mix. Watch Jab Tak Hai Jaan not just for the obvious sentimental reason but for the fact that it shows, for one last time, what Bollywood will miss now that the undisputed master of romantic sagas is no more.

Aditya Chopra’s story is outstanding, with plenty of twists and turns. The two love stories – of Samar with Meera, and of Akira with Samar – are wonderful and completely different from each other. On the whole, Jab Tak Hai Jaan is poetry on celluloid. It is a movie marvel. It is a piece of cinematic history. It is a blockbuster… sorry, a super blockbuster. It will have a long and meritorious run in the multiplexes and cinemas.

The story may be set in today’s times, but the theme is very Yash Chopra, wherein true love happens only once in a lifetime, and it trumps all else. Finally, though, what keeps you with the film is Shah Rukh Khan who is first-rate. Watch this one for Shah Rukh, who can still do the dimpled boy wonder and the older, mature lover with a wry smile and wounded wink and sexy nudge.

What’s Good: The well-played out love stories; the music; the direction and cinematography. What’s Bad: The tiring climax; some performances. Loo Break: None. Watch or Not?: Jab Tak Hai Jaan is worth a watch. Jab Tak Hai Jaan is worth a watch, and that’s not just to pay your last respects to the legend Yash Chopra. It’s a movie that puts the mushy, filmy craziness back in love stories.

The King of Romance behind the camera directing the Badshah of Romance in front of the camera. And a script that boasts of solid, undying love. No, there cannot be a better way to portray love on the silver screen. ‘Jab Tak Hai Jaan’ has nailed that – at least for the immediate future. Shah Rukh Khan, you don’t really need words of praise or adulation; but go ahead and take a bow!. In case you still haven’t, go watch ‘Jab Tak Hai Jaan’. You can thank the Kings of Romance once you’re done with the film… nahi bhoolenge hum, jab tak hai jaan! Four cheers for this one!

Son Of Sardaar Review

Son Of Sardaar Review

Review by: Rajeev Masand Site:CNN IBN (IBNLive)

Judged even by the yardstick of a 'leave-your-brains-behind' entertainer, Son of Sardaar falls considerably short, particularly because it wants to be too many things all at once. Dhir mines the premise for its comic potential, offering us some moments of inspired lunacy. But this is equally an action film, and the cartoonish set pieces fail to impress because they rely too heavily on tacky special effects. I'm going with a generous two out of five for director Ashwni Dhir's Son of Sardaar. Even if you're a fan of those loud 80s-style entertainers, this one demands a lot out of you.

SON OF SARDAAR may give you the feeling of deje vu, but let's face it, it needs tremendous skills to pen a screenplay that never lets you lose focus. Dhir and screenwriter Robin Bhatt ensure that they throw every trick in the book to serve a no-holds-barred entertainer, with 70 mm herogiri at its best, to the amusement-seeking moviegoer. That's one of the prime reasons why SON OF SARDAAR hits the right notes. On the whole, SON OF SARDAAR is for lovers of hardcore masala movies. If you liked WANTED, DABANGG and ROWDY RATHORE, chances are you will relish SON OF SARDAAR as well. The North Indian audiences in particular and those residing abroad will be simply delighted by this chatpata, masaledaar fare. A wholesome entertainer in the festive period. Go, have a blast!

Ajay Devgn convincingly plays son-of-the-soil with power, playfulness and colorful pagdis in every scene. He switches from comedy, action and romance flippantly, impressing with funny lines, gimmicks atop a ghodi (Jassi again) and tons of PJJs (poor-Punju-jokes). . This is a mass-entertainer, strung together with a series of Santa-Banta jokes, spiked solidly with macho sardaarisms. Like Jassi says, “Kabhi toh hasliya karo”, this one makes you laugh – in parts!

Son of Sardaar is exhausting, painfully loud and way too long, with too few laughs. These aren't so much films as series of running gags, interspersed with action sequences, instantly forgettable songs and nonsensical dialogue. The idea, I think, is to be entertained without straining your brain. I'm all for it, as long as there is significant entertainment. There was none here. Son of Sardaar made me miss Rohit Shetty, the reigning king of this type of cinema. That says it all.

Son of Sardaar is the remake of a Telugu film Maryada Ramanna by S.S. Rajamouli but is a lot different from it too. Apart from that it takes a lot of inspiration Rohit Shetty's popular films starring Ajay Devgn. But this film lacks the punch that Shetty manages each time. I am sure it's tough to shoot scenes with human beings and cars flying and director Ashvini Dhir gets all that right but what's tougher is to club all the larger than life heroism with a good script which Dhir just doesn't get. Son of Sardaar has a lot for the masses but it lacks a good story. With all the other ingredients in place it feels like Son of Sardaar is a good opportunity wasted.

When a movie tries too hard to be funny and the effort shows in every frame, it only ends up being an unintentional joke rather than a genuine laugh riot. Son of Sardaar is one such abomination. Son of Sardaar is a vengeance drama in the garb of a slapstick comedy – a tangled mess that has no way of working its way around the sloppy screenplay.Poppycock in Phagwara: that is what the film should have been named. While the men on the screen defy gravity at will, the narrative defies logic without a care. Looking for genuine fireworks this Diwali? Look elsewhere.

Some sequences are hilarious and evoke a lot of laughter. On the other hand, there are some sequences which appear stretched. Also, at quite a few places, either logic is given the go-by to further the drama in a particular direction or the characters are made to behave in a particular fashion to arrive at the desired conclusion. This comes in the way of the complete enjoyment of the drama by the audience. On the whole, Son Of Sardaar is an entertaining fare and a good festive watch. Its performance in circuits like U.P., East Punjab, Bihar, Rajasthan, C.P. Berar and C.I. will be better than in the other circuits.

Son of Sardaar’ comes in as an entertaining treat. The multi-starrer action cum rom-com is quite a predictable story, but does unfold its share of subtle surprises. SOS is a typical masala entertainer. It’s got all the formula of an action-packed flick. Ashwani Dhir’s direction is quite commendable, considering the fact that the film follows a traditional formula. The action sequences are a completely fantasy. Even Rajinikanth might seek certain tips to incorporate such hard-to-believe action sequences in his next! Nonetheless, the film is meant to be such. Certain portions are a bit of a drag, but the comic sequences will make up for the monotony. The cast has put up a good show. Overall, SOS is worth a watch, a complete family entertainer!

Student Of The Year Movie Review

Student Of The Year: Movie Review

Rating: 3.5/5

Dharma Productions and Red Chillies Entertainment's combined production Student of the Year (SOTY) releases today. The film marks the entries of three newcomers Alia Bhatt, Varun Dhawan and Sidharth Malhotra into the glamourous world of Bollywood. Karan Johar has given blockbusters in the past and is known for catering the young audiences, hence expectations fromSOTY is quite high.

STORY

Directed by Karan Johar, SOTY is a coming-of-age story that tracks the myriad emotions one goes through while on way from youth to adulthood. It is the story of Abhimanyu Singh (Siddharth Malhotra) and Rohan Nanda (Varun Dhawan), who traverse the path of competition, envy, triumph, failure, manipulation and heartbreak in their mini-universe of St Teresa's High School, Dehradun. Cupid strikes both, when the most happening girl in the campus Shanaya Singhania (Alia Bhatt) enters. Next what happens? How things change in the trio's life?

The movie is set in the picturesque locales of Dehradun that gives you a fresh and breezy feel. Student Of The Year is not a typical love story, as predicted by many. The film interestingly and innovatively defines the birth of new ambitions and old loyalties falling by the wayside. Each segment of Student Of The Year competition manages to tear apart both the participants and the spectators to redefine the choices of the three protagonists.

PERFORMANCES

Amongst the trio, Siddharth Malhotra stands out at his best. Sid does a commendable job as Abhimanyu. This Punjabi munda deserves a hats off. Varun Dhawan too is quite convincing in the film. He suits well in his richy-rich, flirtatious character of Rohan. Finally, enters the 'dramebaaz', hotshot babe Alia Bhatt aka Shanaya, who couldn't think anything better than brands and designer clothes. Alia's character in the film reminds us of K3G's Poo (Kareena Kapoor).

MUSIC

With a youthful setting, the film's soundtrack by duo Vishal-Shekhar, who has doled out seven tracks, gels well with the theme. Songs like 'Disco Deewane', 'Radha', 'Ishq Wala Love' and 'Vele' are already topping the chart.

VERDICT

Student of the Year is a youthful and interesting movie that deserves a thumps up. Three cheers for this.
